Hi!
Thank you so much for visiting this page. My name is Julia, I am 20 years old and currently studying English Language and Culture at the University of Utrecht, specialising in literature. I currently live on my own in Arnhem, the city I grew up in. Since I was a little girl I have had a love for books. During my puberty, I let this hobby slip, however, in the last few years, I picked it back up. Especially since I now read a lot for my studies, but also because of this blog and my Bookstagram. I started reading English books when I was 16 or so and I have completely fallen for the language, hence the reason I study it. I am now in my second year of my three-year bachelor and still figuring out what I want to do after! Already during these years studying, my proficiency in English has grown and so has my knowledge of literature and books. Besides reading for uni, I also read a lot for fun, with fantasy being my favourite genre as it allows me to step into another world. I am trying to read more in different genres, as you might have noticed because of my Monthly Classics posts. This is a goal for me in 2021.
As I'm looking for things to do once I finish my bachelor, I secretly dream of becoming an author myself. I get a lot of joy from writing and I am slowly improving because I write a lot for my blog and studies. I do feel that I am too busy with my studies to devote myself to novel-writing at this time in my life. Yet, I do try to practise as much as I can. Besides writing, I spend a lot of time on making pictures, which I like doing too. I am still trying things out and slowly building my Bookstagram feed, but I love to be creative with it.
